Double Page Spread

This is the double page spread (DPS) for my music magazine 'FABULOUS'. It is an interview with the winner of last weeks competition, May Yoneda who won the prize, singing lessons with High School Musical's vocal coach. I think that the colours used would really appeal to my target audience as pink is the colour associated with the female gender. I think i have laid out the page well, however i think to improve this i would definetly add more images perhaps showing different stages of the winner's day so that the DPS appeals more to the reader. Because the reader is of a young age i feel that perhaps there is too much text on the page for them to be attracted to.
However i do feel the colours used to seperate the text work really well, and the enlarged quote written over the main image also works really well. I think this because it is what immediately draws the reader in, making them want to read more of this article/interview.
The language i decided to use in the interview is quite casual as the age of readers that would be reading this would not use formal and sophisticated language which they would perhaps associate with boring. The language used for May Yoneda i made it seem like she was of a young age, i took phrases and words that my younger sister uses which makes the interview seem much more realistic and therefore much easier for the reader to understand and associate with.
